Same-Day Support

Anonymous support for anyone affected by sexual assault or abuse, sexual harassment, relationship violence, or stalking — by appointment, drop-in or virtually. We’re here for you.

Review Your Options

Detailed exploration of options available, safety planning, strategies for coping, and self-care.

Psychological Support

Free, comprehensive psychological services for survivors of sexual assault or abuse.

Follow-Up + Accompaniment

Follow-up support and/or accompaniment service is available for those who seek medical attention, report their experience to the Office of the Dean of Students or law enforcement, or wish to make a campus or criminal complaint.

Advocacy

Advocacy to support students' personal well-being, safety, and academic success.

Assistance Responding to a Disclosure

Each person has the right to make their own decisions as to what to do next and to have those choices respected.  Learn how to offer support if someone discloses a case of sexual violence to you »

About The Centre

The U of A Sexual Assault Centre provides same day crisis intervention support to survivors of sexual violence and their supporters, as well as comprehensive educational workshops for the campus community. We actively work towards creating a campus community free of sexual violence and operate from a feminist, anti-oppressive, intersectional, trauma-informed, and person-centered framework.

Roots is a five-week psychoeducational group programme that runs each semester built specifically for survivors of sexual violence. New opportunities start in September 2024.
