The Randy and Audrey Lomnes Early Career Award Endowment in Physics is designed to provide research support for pre-tenure faculty in the Department of Physics.

For women who are recent PhD Physics graduates

The Avadh Bhatia Women's Postdoctoral Fellowship is conferred to a woman who is a recent PhD graduate with a demonstrated potential for excellence in research. We invite applications for this fellowship roughly every two years.

 

Hiroomi Umezawa Memorial Distinguished Lecturer

The Hiroomi Umezawa Memorial Distinguished Lecturer is hosted by the Theoretical Physics Institute at the University of Alberta. TPI invites world-leading speakers to honour the late University of Alberta professor Hiroomi Umezawa, whose loved ones established the Umezawa Fund to support studies in physics.

 

Theoretical Physics Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship

For recent PhD graduates

The Theoretical Physics Fellowship is aimed at a recent PhD graduate (within 3 years of PhD degree) in theoretical physics with demonstrated potential for excellence in research. Approximately every two years, researchers from a broad range of areas such as condensed matter physics, particle physics, astrophysics and cosmology, plasma physics and geophysics are invited to apply.
