6.22 Registering in More Than One Degree Program

Refer to Registration in More than One Degree Program in the Calendar.

For further information on Concurrent Registration, refer to Policy Updates on the GPS website.

It is important to note that a student who begins taking courses toward a doctoral degree before having completed the master's degree may experience a significant delay in completing the master's degree. The student's focus may change from completion of the master's thesis to the requirements of doctoral coursework. Note also that students will be assessed fees for both programs.

For those graduate students who are eligible to register in two programs concurrently, they may register through Bear Tracks in the doctoral program. They should then contact their department and request that a recommendation be sent to GPS regarding registration in the master's program.
