What are the requirements of a work experience position? To qualify as a work experience, opportunities must be a consecutive 4, 8, 12 or 16 months and must be paid at industry standard rates (resources to help determine rate of pay can be provided on request). What are the responsibilities of a Work Experience Employer? As a work experience employer, your responsibilities are generally no different than hiring any temporary employee, with the added benefit of a campus contact from the Faculty of Arts who will informally monitor work experience student progress and do a follow-up site visit with the supervisor once during each work term. There is a mentorship component to the program and AWE students and their supervisors are asked to identify learning objectives at the beginning of the work term to be worked on throughout their work term.
